Going to a high school football game in Texas was a real experience. It was like going to a pro game. The field was amazing and the stadium was amazing. Cooper High school(Devin's school) won 56 to 7.

I went out to California to pick up Devin and spent a few days with Nancy relaxing. Friday night , Nancy, Dale and I went and saw "The Proposal". We really enjoyed it.

This is where Keith is moving to on Friday. Devin and I will move in sometime. It has about 1250 sq ft. The apt. complex has a pool. tennis courts and workout room.

The new airport is really nice. The airshow was pretty good but aliitle long. Even though I applied and reapplied sunscreen, I still got burned.

Keith left today instead of yesterday because it rained Tuesday (bad for packing a trailer) and we packed up yesterday in the sun. He drove all day and got into Abilene around 8 pm.
Keith's dad and I worked on the guesthouse deck, then I mowed until the rider mower quit, the engine was hot so I let it cool,I went in and had dinner.I then took off the filter and filter cover and cleaned them, got the portable battery charger (because things never break down in a convenient spot) put it on the battery and yeah it started. It was about 7:30 pm so I just got the mower back to where we store it. Came in watched the rest of Smallville and Ugly Betty, took a shower and now I'm writing this.
Exciting, I know. Have a great night.

Keith goes first and he will see if he wants Devin and me to join him, (ever). He gets a new truck with his job and he wants the freedom of cruisin' the town for chicks without being hindered by his wife and son.(just kidding)
When Devin gets out of school we will join Keith. This will give him time to find us a good ward and a good place to live. Keith liked he visit and the people really liked him. The boss told him they would be getting more of an employee than they were asking for. Keith will finally be appreciated for the hard worker and the great person he is. He starts May 7th with the CFP Group.We will have insurance again, Yeah. We haven't had it for 4 years. Like I mentioned he will be getting a brand new 2x4 Toyota Tundra, gas card, company credit card, company cell phone and a new laptop computer.
Those of you in San Antonio we will be only 4 hours way. Yeah. I think it will be a shorter drive to most of the relatives.
There are lots of lakes around so we can start enjoying our boat again. The people he will be working with want him to join their softball team.
The people he will be working with are very religious and have a group prayer in the mornings before heading out to work. I think it will a good fit. It's not the money he wanted(close) but they will renegoiate his salary when the installation of fire alarm systems in commercial buildings start coming in and he becomes the project manager for those. He is getting in on the ground level and they seem to be doing very well with this economy and we are glad he can get a good job. They will also give us money for moving.

Being in Cape Fair for a couple of weeks Keith said he is way less stressed. Being away from the situation he was in is worth the move. One would think with no job there would be more stress but there isn't. There are a few things that need fixin' around here, bills that still need to be paid, but it is nice to be back on the lake. We do miss our family and friends.
Devin is doing great. His grades are up and he is getting more independent.
Keith does have a job interview for a company in Abilene, TX. They are going to fly him out next Tuesday. He hopefully will be offered a job. It sounds like a great company and he would be getting in at ground level. We just hope the salary offer is acceptable. I will have to get a job (hopefully someplace will want me), It didn't work out so well in California.
I will let you know how it turns out with the interview. Wish him luck.

We made it to Cape Fair but we are leaving tomorrow(Tuesday) to head back to Torrance for the stuff we couldn't fit. Drive for 2 days, pack the stuff in the trailer, stay the night and head back to Cape Fair.

Happy 2009!
Devin celebrated by going to a friend's birthday party and stayed up all night. Came home about 8 in the morning to sleep.
Keith and I went to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner and then went to the movies and saw Valkyrie. Very good dinner and very good movie. What made it even better was we didn't pay for anything, thanks to gift cards from Nancy and Dale and Keith's parents. We got home about 10 pm and watched the new year come in on TV.
This will probably be my last post for awhile. We don't lead exciting lives and no one seems to care too much anyway. I will keep tabs on all of you. If anything wonderful happens or if we have exciting news we will let you know.

It was fun to see this with all the fans but especially with family and yes there were men and boys there. The movie ended at about 2:30 am.
The movie itself was really great. It stuck pretty good to the book but as with movies some things change and you don't quite get the depth of relationships as with a book. I would totally recommend this movie. While most swooned when the actor who plays Edward came on screen the first time, I couldn't help but be disappointed, he didn't fit what I thought Edward should be. He did grow on me though. I will be seeing it again with my husband and son. Thanks to Marissa for getting in the line first to save us a spot. You rock.

Devin had a party with his friends on Friday. They all had a great time. There was music and visiting out back. Rock band inside and playing games out front. Devin says he now feels like a 16 year old.

Can you believe summer is over? It went by too darn fast. I can't believe Devin is a junior this year. Where has the time gone? I can still remember him in pre-school.

Labor day weekend

The first picture shows how our weekend started out. Devin was determined to make it miserable. It all started because Keith and I at the last minute decided to go to San Diego. We left Saturday morning and got back about 5 pm on Sunday. Devin was going to prove we couldn't make him have fun. It lasted to late afternoon Saturday but then he came out of it. We found out the main problem is he is not a spontaneous person. He needs warning if we are going to do something. He ended up having a good time and he did enjoy most of the weekend. Saturday we went sightseeing, ate pizza and saw a movie. Sunday we went on a 2 hour harbor cruise and then came home.

Devin spent a week at camp outside of Beaver, Utah. Keith spent Saturday until Tuesday. They all had fun but had a very hard hike in what is called the subway in Zion National Park. They sure ate great. They had Ribeye steaks, pork ribs, fish they caught, spaghetti, etc. They have a lot of good stories and memories.

After repelling and walking 9 miles, Devin is a little worn out.

On Wednesday, the 13th we spent the afternoon at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. We got 2 for 1 tickets at a fundraiser for the scouts. This was the 1st time going . It was really nice, a good way to spend some time.

Devin, Keith and I went to Vegas the weekend of Aug 8th. We had a very good time. We got a good deal from a Sam's Club. We had to go to a timeshare tour but got show tickets out of it. We couldn't go on our actually anniversary so we celebrated a week early. Can you believe Keith and I have been married for 24 years? Enjoy the pictures!

Keith, Devin and I spent the day with Nancy, Dale and my mom. We first went to the parade. Great seats- Nancy went out early the day before to stake their claim. We then had a great lunch and went and saw Hancock. It was pretty good but way different then we thought it would be. We then came home swam for awhile then went and saw the fireworks.

Devin has been looking forward to this day for as long as I can remember. He received his driving permit on April 8th while we were in Missouri. On his second day of driving he got his first taste of driving at night in the rain and on the winding roads of MO. It was a little nerve racking but he did well. He drove a lot of the way from MO back to CA. It was nice having him drive, Keith & I took turns sitting in the back and watching videos and sleeping. What a nice change. Keith & I may forget how to drive since Devin wants to drive everywhere.

We went to Missouri for spring break. They had been getting lots of rain, and we got some while we were there. Run off flows into rivers which flow into lakes which then gets released down stream which causes a lot of problems. Those at the reunion will remember the walk from the house to the dock, well it's cut in half now. The water should be going down soon.

Both services were wonderful. It's nice to here how people feel about your dad. Having the grandchildren & great grandchildren sing Families can be together forever was so great. Thanks to the Relief Societies in Green River and Longmont for the yummy luncheons. Instead of being sad, we decided to celebrate his life with memories and some of his favorite things in Green River. We had Dad's chili along with his favorite dessert, vanilla ice cream with nuts and chocolate. We then shared memories and then danced to "shout" and Mony, Mony" 2 dances dad always requested at dances. It was quite the site. We thought the floor might give way. Thanks to Pat & Kathy for all the did for dad and all they did to get the service together. Also thanks to Kathy's sister and Keith & Kristi. Love you all.

The burial service in Longmont was great. There were some great memories shared by their friends in Longmont. A few people from Arvada come up also. the American Legion did a great job on the Military honors. They did the 21 gun salute, they did what is called echo taps. That was so cool and they folded the flag and presented it mom. There was new snow on the ground to make the place beautiful, yet not to cold. Thanks Susan for all you did to get that put together. Bob & Pat you would have really liked it. It was fitting that he was buried on St. Patrick's Day.

My dad passed away at about 6:10 am on March 7, 2008 just 5 days short of his 86th birthday. He was a great man and we sure will miss him. I'm glad that I lived within 30 minutes of them my whole married life with the exception of the last 4 years. At times we even lived with them and believe it or not we all enjoyed it. I'm glad that Devin got to really know his grandfather. They had some good times together. Dad was always willing to try new things even in his older years. He really did love his wife and children but he also loved serving the Lord. Thanks dad for all you did for me and the rest of the family. We will miss you.

We had an electrical fire at our bathroom receptacle early Monday morning. Keith had fallen a sleep on the couch and got up around 1:30 am. He smelled something funny and tracked it down to the bathroom. He felt the wall and it was hot and before he could go out to flip the switch , flames about 2 feet high came shooting out. He got it out and took care of it. It's scary to think what could have happened. Devin & I were in Utah at the time. Please make sure your smoke detectors are in working order, you never know.

A day in the snow

We were given a couple lift tickets so Keith , Devin, Barry and Louise went up to Snow Valley ski resort. They had fun. Keith & Devin tried snow boarding, did ok but got a few bruises along the way. Keith now knows he will stick with skiing. Devin wants to keep snowboarding.

Keith & Kathy drove to downtown Disney for New Year's just to find out the fireworks were cancelled so we drove home again. We stopped in at Denny's and had some ice cream treats, then drove home and brought in the new year there.

Devin went to a youth dance at the Torrance Stake center and had a great time. He rented a tux and looked very snazzy.

Devin & I met with up with the Brady's, Schumann's & the Vallente's. Everyone looked wonderful. It was great seeing them all. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked because I was to busy visiting and we had to leave early because Devin got sick.

I had a great birthday. It started on Friday with dinner and a movie with Keith and Devin. We had a yummy meal at Black Angus and we saw I am Legend. On Sunday we were invited down to the Braithwaites to join in gingerbread house making, dinner of yummy chicken pillows and then off to the Christmas program. It was fun spending it with family.

It was great seeing mom & dad in November. We had some good times. For the most part they stayed with Nancy but we had them for a couple of nights and 1 1/2 days. I had to work with Keith a lot while they were here so I didn't get to do all the fun stuff. Here are some pictures.

OK, here goes my 6 things that are true and maybe not true. I might as start with my very short stint as a rodeo clown since Marissa brought it up. I hope I can remember. Rodeo clowns are the only clowns I like btw.

1) Well, it happened early on in my marriage. Keith & I used to do undercover work and we were on the trail of a murderer. Bull riders were the targets. Keith went in as a bull rider and I went in as a rodeo clown. I know I had a job to do but that was so fun and scary all at the same time. I not only diverted the bulls when the riders fell off but I also got to do my rad dance moves for the audience until the next rider was ready. We did this for 2 nights but I can say no more. Top Secret.

2) If you don't know that I'm a Chuck Norris fan then you really don't know me at all. In March 2000, Keith, Devin & I spent the day on the set of "Walker, Texas Ranger". We got to watch all day, got our pictures taken with all the stars, yes, even Chuck and we got to eat lunch with the crew. It was one of our best days.
3) When I was in high school my parents bought me a horse. It was a paint, brownish red and white named Patches. I rode her nearly everyday after school. I was in heaven.

4) The Boulder County fair is held in Longmont, CO every year. Lee Greenwood(country singer) famous for "God Bless The USA" was a performer. On the Saturday of the fair, they had a parade. Lee Greenwood was going down the street in a convertible. When he got to where I we were standing, I ran out and kissed him and yes, I was married to Keith at the time. He was the one who gave me the nudge.

5) I asked Jay Osmond to BYU's prefernce dance with the help of Kevin G. Jay said no of course, saying he was busy doing Osmond stuff but he probably went with someone he actually knew. Oh, well at least I tried.

6) In May of 2004, I gave CPR, which included mouth to mouth to one of the kittens my cat gave birth to. She came out barely breating and way smaller than she should have been. It took a little while of rubbing her to keep her warm, shaking her safely to clear her lungs & nose out. She is now a healthy 3 year old.
Sorry kind of boring. . Anyway, now it is Karen and Clifford V, Susan Moore, Valerie S., Bob and Melissa Brady turns. Have fun!
