We had a great Easter dinner and visit with the Braithwaites.  Nancy had wonderful decorations as usual.

Post MTC drop off

The Debrines dropped off their son off at the MTC about a half hour before we did. Meeting up with them and some friends we have known since high school made it easier on us.

Look who we saw hanging out on the corner in downtown Provo.

It was fun around BYU.
I sure had fun going to all the home games when I went to BYU.

Utah trip to take Devin to the MTC

He said he felt like a new person after going through the temple.

Devin through the Los Angeles Temple for his endowments on April 2nd

Devin with his Bishop and Stake President after being set apart as a missionary on April 7th.

We headed up to Utah on Monday April 8th.

We ran into snow on our way up to Utah. It was off and on but got kind of scary. At one point Devin and I were wondering why we were seeing headlights facing us on our side of the highway. A vehicle had spun out. Luckily he slide to the right shoulder and were alright. We made it to the hotel about 10 pm. A few hours late but at least we were safe

Since we would only have 2 1/2 minutes to say good bye on
Weds , we decided  to get a picture in front of the  MTC  they day before.

Tuesday afternoon we decided to head up to Salt Lake City and Temple Square.
We saw the temple, the visitor center's, the tabernacle and the conference center. We got a tour of the conference center. It was awesome.

The tabernacle

Where they have LDS general Conference.

Devin all packed up Tuesday morning before
heading to the MTC. We stopped and had lunch
at Chili's. There were a few other families with their
soon to be missionaries.

We had time to spare before his time to be dropped off, so we stopped at the grounds of the Provo Temple. That was the gathering spot to say your good byes and picture taking before the real good bye.

I tried to be strong and not cry. It almost worked. We know this is what he should be doing but it still was hard.

Going in the gates of the MTC.
Our last picture of him before he headed in.
. I wanted to get a picture of him walking away but wasn't fast enough.
